TAMPA, Fla. - Following the championship match on Sunday, USL Academy announced the award winners for the 2025 USL Academy Finals at IMG Academy.
Indy Eleven’s Ryan Hunsucker earned the Golden Ball and Golden Glove award, becoming the first goalkeeper to earn the top honor in the tournament’s fifth edition. Hunsucker, who’s currently on an Academy Contract with the USL Championship first team, was a crucial player as Indy Eleven march to its second straight title-game, conceding just one goal from open play across four matches.
Luca Sowinski scored four goals for Lexington SC during the tournament to claim the Charly Golden Boot award. The former professional with FC Tulsa was a consistent goal-scoring threat during the tournament, scoring a brace in both the quarterfinal and third-place matches.
Lexington SC’s Jose Flores was named the Young Player of the Tournament, scoring the winning penalty kick for Lexington in the third-place match and starting throughout the weekend. Flores was a key piece of Lexington’s midfield, impressing with his composure on the ball, decision making, and passing range.
Quinn Huddle of Lexington SC earned the Coach of the Tournament honor for his professionalism on the touchline throughout the tournament. Huddle motivated and taught one of the youngest rosters at the tournament mixed with up-and-coming youth prospects and professional-caliber talents, helping to show the development of a clear pathway from Lexington’s academy program to the USL Championship team.
