Aidan Morrison Wins League Two Young Player of the Year Award

The Charlotte Independence 2 midfielder scored three goals while splitting time with the first team

TAMPA – Today USL League Two announced that Charlotte Independence 2 midfielder Aidan Morrison has won the 2023 USL League Two Young Player of the Year award.

Morrison, now 18 years old, scored three times for Independence 2 over the course of the season, all within a four-match span. The USL Academy participant also split time with the Independence first team and Academy competitions.

He scored in the 81st minute during Independence’s thrilling 6-5 defeat to Tobacco Road FC at the end of May, and again just four days later while shorthanded against playoff-bound Charlotte Eagles.

The Denver, NC native is committed to play for The College of William and Mary this fall.

The award was given based on voting results from a poll delivered to USL League Two clubs before the 2023 Playoffs.
