Schedule Set for USL Academy Eastern Conference Regional Event

18-game slate will take place from February 14-17, 2020

TAMPA, FL – The United Soccer League today unveiled the schedule for the 12 participating clubs in the first USL Academy Eastern Conference event, which is set for February 14-17 at the Premier Sports Campus of Lakewood Ranch in Bradenton, Florida.

The second of two regional qualifying weekends, Eastern Conference USL Academy action will feature teams competing at the U-17 level. The event will kick off on February 14, with North Carolina FC taking on Tampa Bay Rowdies at 3:00 p.m. ET.

The 18-game slate will run through Monday, February 17 with two noon kickoffs between South Georgia Tormenta FC-Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC and Colorado Pride Switchbacks-Weston FC closing out the long weekend. Academy programs from clubs across the USL Championship, USL League One, and USL League Two will compete at the event.

The event will also feature off-field development opportunities for coaches, players, and referees, including a Youth Development Workshop, a Pro Pathway Panel, and the chance to attend a professional preseason match.

All teams competing in the February event will go on to compete at the inaugural USL Academy Cup national event from May 22-25, 2020. Groups at the national event will be determined based on results at the Western and Eastern regional events. The national event will include a U-13 competition in addition to U-17, and a national champion will be crowned in both age groups.
