Some of the country’s best young talent will be on display at the inaugural USL Academy event in San Antonio from October 11-14, and three of the tournament’s top matches will be available even to those who can’t make the trip to Texas.

Nutmeg Sports Media will stream three games live on the USL Academy YouTube channel. All three matches will take place at Toyota Field, the professional-grade stadium of USL Championship club San Antonio FC.

"Nutmeg Sports Media is excited to work with USL on the inaugural USL Academy Cup," said Mark A. Torres, President of Nutmeg Sports Media. "The USL's footprint on American soccer is growing as is Nutmeg's reach across the game. We look forward to bringing the USL Academy players ability to the world via live streaming and showing what the capabilities are of Nutmeg to bring clubs' talent to the world for viewing."

On top of the three games being streamed live, Nutmeg Sports Media will also record any of the tournament's other games that clubs request prior to the event starting. Each match will be recorded in full high definition from 25-foot towers, with the match footage then available for delivery on the same day upon request for quick game analysis.

The first USL Academy event should be a fantastic watch, with two of the best young prospects in the country squaring off against one another. SAFC’s 15-year-old starlet Leo Torres and OCSC’s 14-year-old phenom Francis Jacobs are both expected to take the pitch, but the two sides have plenty of talent beyond those two headliners. It’s a fitting game to kick off the tournament and definitely one to keep an eye on.

Saint Louis FC

Saint Louis’ academy produced one of the most well known USL academy graduates in Werder Bremen’s Josh Sargent, but they didn’t stop there. They’ll be bringing a solid squad to San Antonio to compete in the Elite Division, including 6'3" center back Jansen Miller and spring 2019 U.S. youth national team call-up Josh Maher. The team's third and final match will be a showdown with Austin Bold, coached by Sonny Guadarrama who plays for the club's USL Championship side.
San Antonio FC
VS
Phoenix Rising FC
Monday, October 14th
11:00 AM EST
The hosts will have two of their three games live streamed, and face Phoenix Rising in their tournament finale. Phoenix's first team has already clinched the regular season Western Conference title in the USL Championship, and the team their academy brings to San Antonio could be just as tough to beat.
